It's not really a party spot per se (despite how the link looks), as there are lots of families and kids that come to enjoy the day and the water too. But you certainly discovered it long before I did!! Yes, Kaneohe Bay is fabulous for kayaking!

Vickie, did you go? How was YOUR picnic? 2 bottles of wine make a perfect picnic, in my opinion! Hugs to you too!

Aimee, HI! Good to hear from you! We miss you guys too, and Supper Club and Eugene! I'd love to hear how things are going for you these days and how you're enjoying your new place...feel free to stop by here anytime!

Sally, yeah the boat would be ideal for napping instead of a kayak, but I think a floatie would be just as nice!

Julie, well, most of my picnics are usually not nearly as exciting. But I think as long as you are surrounded by good friends and good food, it's a perfect picnic!

Christie, yeah, sometimes I do feel so lucky here! Thanks for the compliment - the tomatoes are a local mix from Kahuku Farms on the North Shore of Hawaii.Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02537200901718762277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16233520.post-44628252561463366992008-08-29T17:20:00.000-07:002008-08-29T17:20:00.000-07:00Kayaking to a picnic - how wonderful! What fun! Every picnic I've ever been on sounds tame in comparison.

But next time I go on one of my (decidedly less exciting) picnics, I'll have to remember this salad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16233520.post-36681580161145644462008-08-26T12:24:00.000-07:002008-08-26T12:24:00.000-07:00What a fun party! A wrap sounds really tasty. I need to figure out how to make gluten-free wraps that actually taste good.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16233520.post-43119569387521748872008-08-26T09:09:00.000-07:002008-08-26T09:09:00.000-07:00Hi Michelle! This is Aimee from Oregon. I'll have to check out your blog more often to stay up to date on what you guys are up to. I see Rosemarie at Tuesday markets getting her produce. I want to try that bean salad recipe. It looks yummy and healthy. Have a great summer!
-AimeeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16233520.post-50877610643479703732008-08-26T04:27:00.000-07:002008-08-26T04:27:00.000-07:00That sounded like fun. We are going on a trip for Labor Day. After reading this, you now have my hamsters doing OT thinking about what we can pack in the car. I have already got crackers, Gouda cheese and two different wines. Thanks for the re-newed interest in Mark Bittman's book. I heard a podcast once featuring him about his book. It was really interesting.
