The Recipe Files

This is a list of all of the recipes featured on my site. As I've cooked more, created more and learned more about cooking over the last four years, my recipes have become less specific, are done more to taste and are more my own. For the most part, the amounts of the various ingredients I post are more suggestion than rule and often feature ingredients that I can get locally here in Hawaii, or that I could get locally in Oregon when I lived there. My favorite recipes, the ones I make over and over again, are marked with two asterisks (**).

Be creative! If you don't have something or don't like something, substitute something else. If you think it needs more or less salt or cumin or coconut, go with your gut! Then leave a comment on that post and fill me in on what you've tried and learned too, or how it worked out in your kitchen (every place, every stove, every oven and every person are different and affect how we cook, eat and taste our food). I love to hear the variations and improvements others have made - it keeps me thinking and creating too! Please let me know if any of the links don't work so that I can fix them.

Michelle, Where is the recipe for the Smokey-flavored Crockpot Ribs? I don't see it on your site. It's in the recipe list, and referenced in the blog, but where is the actual recipe?? I was searching for a new crockpot recipe and your blog and the comments sound Delicious! I want to try it. Please, please?!

Hi Verity,
You can email me at phillipslaydenATgmailDOTcom - it's a long story why it's not on there, but I'm not opposed to sharing it with you!
